Design Mood Board | Melisa Ford Boudoir
I’ve wanted to create something like this for a long time. You know, getting out what’s in your brain onto paper! I’ve had ideas and things I’ve been pinning for quite some time, however I didn’t know quite where to start. After a bit of inspiration found on Pinterest, I knew that I could make it happen. And thus, my boudoir design mood board was created.
This was so much fun to make! It really was an empowering experience putting down onto paper (well, virtual paper in Photoshop) all of your business ideas in the form of art, beauty and opbjects that inspire me. This represents the feeling I get when I think about my business, and the feeling I hope my clients get too! All of these ideas, including the vintage feel and the colors are or will be used in my business in some aspect or another, right down to how I package and deliver my heirloom, luxury products.
Although this design board was created with my boudoir business in mind, catering to the vintage, boho, sexy, and classic feel that I want to portray and capture in my clients, it also overlaps into the rest of my business as well. I might just create a slightly different mood board for the family/maternity/ newborn side of my business as well.
I started with my colors. I chose these colors for the feeling you get when you see all of these colors together – it gives off a sophisticated yet comforting feeling. Softness and vintage. I love little touches of gold, but not too overwhelming. Then I added in some peonies, succulents, vintage lingerie, and soft feminine touches here and there.
