At Melisa Ford Boudoir, every session is thoughtfully directed inside my private countryside studio in Valley Center, California. No modeling experience needed. No pressure to know what you’re doing. Just a luxury experience designed to help you feel feminine, confident, and completely taken care of from start to finish.

Posing
Every pose is fully guided and demonstrated, from your fingertips to your facial expression. You never have to wonder what to do. In fact, “I’m awkward in photos” is probably the #1 thing clients say before they walk through my doors.
Outfits
Most clients bring 2–4 outfits they love, then borrow additional pieces from the studio closet during styling for extra variety and finishing touches. You do not need a suitcase full of lingerie to have an incredible session.
Hair & Makeup
Professional hair and makeup is included with every session, so you can simply arrive, relax, sip your coffee, and ease into the day while our beauty team takes care of the rest.
Privacy
Your session takes place privately at my countryside studio in Valley Center, where you’ll be the only client of the day. From the moment you arrive, everything is thoughtfully planned so you can settle in and enjoy the experience without ever wondering what comes next.

A NOTE ON RETOUCHING: We happily offer retouching on all our photos, which includes overall skin smoothing, evening out uneven skin tone, and removing a stray hairs. We do not provide body sculpting or more extensive forms of retouching. You simply don’t need it! If you have a retouching question - just ask!

THE STUDIO
All sessions take place in our gorgeous natural light studio, the Boudoir Barn. We provide the perfect setting for getting pampered, feeling sexy and sensual, and having the experience of a lifetime. Located in Valley Center, CA, minutes from interstate 15 and highway 76, our studio is set privately on 5 acres and unlike anything you'll find in Southern California. We are about 30 min from Oceanside, Escondido, and Temecula.
Client Closet
You’ll have full access to our client lingerie closet, complete with accessories like Honey Birdette body jewelry & a gorgeous Fredrick's of Hollywood robe. New pieces are added often, with sizes currently available from XS to 3X.
Once you’re booked, we send over a complete prep + lingerie guide to make sure you feel 100% ready.

HOW YOUR BOUDOIR EXPERIENCE WORKs
Reserve Your Session
Sessions are typically held Tuesdays and Thursdays starting at 8am. If you need a specific date or are traveling from out of town, please reach out to check availability. For gifted albums or time-sensitive artwork, booking 8+ weeks ahead is recommended.
Plan & Prepare
From the moment you book, I’m hands-on to make the process feel easy and stress-free. You can text me outfit ideas anytime, and you’ll receive a complete prep + lingerie guide so you feel fully ready before your session day arrives.
Hair, Makeup & Styling
Your day begins with professional hair and makeup while you relax and settle into the experience. Once your look is finalized, we’ll style your outfits together using the pieces you brought along with optional selections from the client closet and accessories.
Your Guided Photoshoot
Once you’re in your first outfit, I’ll guide you through every pose from head to toe...including what to do with your hands, facial expressions, and even your breathing. You never have to wonder what to do or how to look “good on camera.” That’s my job.
Same-Day Image Reveal & Artwork
After your session, you’ll take a short break before returning for your private View & Order appointment. You’ll see your images for the first time in a custom slideshow, choose your favorites, and decide how you’d like to enjoy them...in an album, digitally, or both. Your finished artwork arrives approximately 4 weeks later.
A Full Luxury Experience
I photograph just one client per day so the experience always feels relaxed, private, and fully personalized. Plan to spend approximately 4.5–5 hours at the studio enjoying professional hair and makeup, your guided photoshoot, and your same-day reveal appointment. Most clients leave feeling like they just experienced something truly unforgettable.

Hi, I’m Melisa.
I’ve been photographing women for over 20 years. Women stepping into new chapters, celebrating milestones, marking birthdays, weddings, anniversaries, and those quiet personal turning points that deserve to be remembered.
Some women come to rediscover confidence. Others come because they’ve never seen themselves this way before. Whatever brings you here, my role is the same: to guide you with patience, honesty, and an eye for the beauty you may not fully see in yourself yet.
When I’m not in the studio, I’m a rugby mom to three boys, a gardener, and a lover of quiet country mornings. That grounded, real-life perspective is what shapes everything I create.

At your SAME DAY View & Order Appointment is where you will see your images for the first time and choose how you want to enjoy your images. Whether that’s a handcrafted album, a digital collection, or both. Together, we’ll select your favorites and design the custom artwork that feels most meaningful to you.
We offer a curated selection of custom artwork, including metal wall art, bedside keepsakes, heirloom boxes, a private mobile app, and our signature viewfinder - a favorite for grooms’ gifts. All available to see and handle in person.

What You Take Home
Your images are transformed into custom artwork designed to be experienced, not just stored. From handcrafted albums to curated digital collections, Á La Carte begins at $2000, collections begin at $2900. Most clients invest between $4,000-$6,000 to fully curate their final artwork, with flexible payment options available.
