Since coming back from being a stay at home mommy to my 3 little boys, I knew I wanted to do a boudoir session for myself. After all, I needed to practice what I preach, right? I wanted my BFF and long time colleague (we went to college and graduated together, both with degrees in Photography) to be my photographer. So I waited for her to make her annual trip down from Canada to visit, and it was during her visit that we (well, ME) got nakee, laughed a lot and took some pretty cool photos.
Although I knew her and I would have a blast together, and that it might be a little weird getting naked in front of my best friend, what I was NOT expecting was to be sore the next day! Ladies, now I totally get how hard a boudoir session can be. BUT SO WORTH IT!
I’ve included a few behind the scenes images so you can see how fun the process is. And, if you like 4.5 lb sweet little doggy’s, well you might just end up with one curled up on your lap while you’re getting your makeup done. He’s kind of my mascot.
Wild Heart Gypsy Soul ♥ ♥ ♥. This has so much meaning to me. It’s taken quite some time for me to settle, and be comfortable with who I am. Even though I don’t get to travel much these days, I’m so grateful I did when I was young. I got to see the world. Experience SO much. I love my life now, my 3 little boys, and my amazingly patient husband, but I will always have a wild heart and a gypsy soul. It’s who I am. And what I represent in my business as well. Don’t be afraid of doing something for YOURSELF. Even if you are a mom, or even a grandma! A boudoir session is a beautiful, freeing experience. Self-love my beautiful babes….it’s an amazing thing.
I will leave you with this…I’ve been up and down with my weight, a personal struggle for many years, and after busting out 3 kids in 18 months (including twins), I finally feel like a strong, empowered woman. It doesn’t matter my size. It matter’s what I see and how it makes me feel. I’ll probably do many more boudoir sessions in my life. Why? Because 1. I’m an artist and I’m always looking to explore new ways of seeing things (including myself), and 2. Because it’s fucking fun!
