Behind the scenes of a boudoir photoshoot: what to expect on the day of your session
Before the Session
Before the session, it’s a good idea to discuss your goals and preferences with the photographer. This may include discussing the overall style and aesthetic you want to achieve, as well as any specific poses or looks you have in mind. You should also talk about your comfort level and what types of clothing and props, if any, you would like to use.
Session Day: First you’ll get pampered with professional hair and makeup
Every one of my clients gets pampered with professional hair and makeup before her boudoir session as a way to feel confident and beautiful. Professional hair and makeup services will help to enhance your natural features and create a polished, cohesive look for the photos.
I have been working with my hair + makeup team for over 6 years. Mandy sets the tone for the session and is often the first face you’ll see on session day. It’s also a good idea to communicate with her about your preferences and the overall aesthetic you want to achieve. You can bring along any specific makeup or hair products that you want to use, or Mandy will use her line of professional products. Lashes are always included!
It’s also a good idea to bring along any specific hair and makeup products that you use on a daily basis, such as your favorite moisturizer or lipstick, so you can touch up your look as needed during the session.
Overall, getting pampered with professional hair and makeup before a boudoir session is a fun and relaxing way to prepare for the shoot and feel confident and beautiful in front of the camera.
Boudoir Session Time
The goal of a boudoir session is to capture beautiful, sensual, and intimate images of the subject. During the session, the photographer will typically guide you through different poses and setups to capture a variety of images. They may use different lighting and background setups to create different looks. You may be asked to change outfits or try different poses to achieve the desired look. After the Session
After the session, I will do a soft edit on the images for your SAME DAY REVEAL! Once you choose your favorites, and order your gorgeous portrait products, I will create a final set of gorgeous, fully retouched photographs. These images will be delivered in an album, as wall art, digital files and a variety of heirloom quality products.
Overall, the experience of a boudoir session will vary depending the preferences and goals of the client. It’s important to communicate with your photographer and feel comfortable and confident during the session to get the results you want.
