Boudoir Glamour Shots | Melisa Ford Boudoir
I love hearing my client’s stories. We all have them, right? It’s so interesting to meet women from all walks of life. And I have the pleasure of bringing out a side of them they either never knew existed or had been lost for a long time.
Although miss A is young, she has been through a lot in recent years, and her NEED for this experience was palpable. I could feel the mood change during the session and her excitement grow and grow. I loved experiencing this journey with her…through tears of joy, lots of laughter and a profound new beginning.
Q: What motivates you to pursue a boudoir shoot right now?
A: A few months back to date I suffered a serious spinal cord injury and fractured eight vertebrae. Today, with a smile I can say that I am moving towards a full recovery even faster than my doctors were hoping and seeing the light at the end of this tunnel. My injury was a huge part of my inspiration for signing up for this shoot. Often times in the tough stages of my injury, I was finding it very difficult to love myself and my body. This injury was also equally tough on my partner as my mobility was limited for a very long time. As a gift to both of us (but mostly for me!), I signed up after a long phase of admiring and searching through your gorgeous photos on Instagram.
Q: On a scale of 1-10 (10 being the most confident) how would you rate how you feel about your body? Elaborate.
A: Prior to my injury, I was very active and lead a healthy lifestyle. With this, I was so confident in myself and my body. Since then, it’s been difficult for me to re-find my confidence, but I would say I would still give myself a solid 5.
Q: What three words would you select to describe the look/ feel of the images you hope to create?
A: Sexy, strong, sweet.
