I love that this client prioritizes photography for her family AND herself. If there’s one thing I know for sure, is that mom’s usually end up organizing photo shoots or even taking a lot of the photos of their family, but often times aren’t IN the actual photos. I should know. I’m a mom and a photographer, and this is even the case in my household. It really is a shame, and as mom’s, with our full plates, we often don’t prioritize this. But we definitely need to get better about communicating to our family members the importance of taking photos of US, even if we don’t feel like it. We need to do it for our kids. They don’t care what we look like in photos.

So in the case of a boudoir session, this is the ultimate gift to one self. While our faces might be absent from too many images to count as a family, this is the one time that women get to hang up their mom hats for the day, get pampered, and feel amazing. AND be in every single photo.
CLIENT INTERVIEW:
Q: What motivates you to pursue a boudoir shoot right now?
A: I did one 10 years ago before kids & had a lot of fun. I also did a maternity boudoir shoot about 6 years ago & have been planning to do an after kids photo shoot but never have the time so it’s been on the to do list forever!
Q: On a scale of 1-10 (10 being the most confident) how would you rate how you feel about your body? Elaborate.
A: 7 – this body has gone through 2 C sections & has its fun share of stretch marks & battle scars. I’ve accepted the mom bod for how it represents its own beauty.
Q: What three words would you select to describe the look/ feel of the images you hope to create?
A: Sexy, empowering, timeless.
