5 Tips for a Successful Boudoir Session
1. Location: Whether you opt for an elegant indoor session or want a romantic and playful outdoor session, choosing the right location will ensure your photos are exactly what you imagined. I will help you decide on the location that fits your needs, suits your style, and is within your comfort level.
2. Wardrobe: There’s a reason this is second on the list. It is one of the most important aspects of your session. A well planned wardrobe will take an average session to an extraordinary session. I offer a wardrobe consultation to each of our clients, and I have an extensive lingerie client closet to choose from with sizes ranging from XS-XXL. I will help you shop, provide you with our preferred vendors, and help you create a wardrobe that suits both your style and your body type.
3. Makeup & Hair: Makeup is equally important when it comes to boudoir success! I rely heavily on my superstar makeup team to provide the highest quality and most beautiful makeup & hair for each of my clients. Lashes are a must and they are of course included. Makeup for film is much different than for every day life, and this is where the importance of a professional is second to none.
4. Retouching: My motto: if it’s a permanent part of your body, it stays, if it’s a temporary imperfection, it goes. I happily offer basic retouching on all our photos, which includes smoothing out an area of uneven skin tone or removing a stray hair. I do not, however, provide any body sculpting or more extensive forms of retouching. You simply don’t need it! Most of the time my clients don’t even realize their photos have barely been retouched! WHY? Because I’m an expert at lighting and choosing the most flattering poses, which lets the natural beauty shine through and focuses on an individuals assets while minimizing any flaws they are worried about.
5. Printed Products: This is the best part! I firmly believe that seeing yourself in print, whether it be a gorgeous metal wall portrait, or a luxury album, you will change the way you feel about yourself. Holding a portrait of yourself in your hands that is a gorgeous, timeless, piece of art, can be an amazing bridge to self-love. Plus…it’s just frickn’ awesome! I offer a curated selection of art quality, heirloom products. It’s up to you how you want to display your portraits.
